The title refers to it was time for the Grant County Fair, not a fair time had. It was actually a pretty good time. It was a hot day so we decided to try and go in the morning thinking it might be marginally cooler than the afternoon. It was, but marginally cooler than 103F isn’t saying much. When we went we met Grandma (Hall), Aunt Kelli, and Nicholas.
The first order was to see animals, a sure fire winner with Danelle. One of the more interesting animals was this cow with sparkles on it’s back. Not sure what the story behind the sparkles were, but they weren’t water drops like I first thought.

Danelle had fun with Grandma looking at chickens and bunnies.

And she got to touch a sheep which the owner kindly brought out for her to touch. Nicholas wandered off before he could pet it.

Notice one of the other girls helpfully had hand sanitizer out and ready to go as soon as Danelle was done. A very helpful 4H group.
Other highlights were looking at the agriculture hands on display from the Pacific Science Center. Danelle was determined to auger some corn while Nicholas looked on.

Of course to Nicholas standing in the corner was also pretty interesting, so not sure if the auger really impressed him much.

Maybe he just gets in trouble a lot and he is used to his parents putting him in corners. (Just Kidding!)
Aunt Kelli then helped both of the kids look at some things.

After all of that, Nicholas must have gotten tired.

I just found him in an empty building like this. Not sure who was supposed to have been watching him. Might have been me, but I’m not sure.
After that we got lunch. I had space burgers and most of the other people had tater dogs, what more could you ask for. Danelle also was pretty insistent on an ice cream cone, but seemed happy with the cotton candy she eventually got, which melted to half its size by the time we got back to the house and let her open the bag.
Oh and Thea did go with us, but she just didn’t do much but sleep. She’s a great kid, just doesn’t do much for interesting stories quite yet, there’s only so many ways to say she slept through something.
